techniques such as three-dimensional solids
modelling, finite element analysis (FEA), and
multi-body techniques, crash simulations, as
well as digital imaging and video analysis,
in developing elegant, engineering-based solutions.
These processes can be applied to research projects,
product development, data analysis, accident
investigation and
litigation.
Testing

controlled laboratory testing or field data
acquisition that you require, HIE can develop
unique test methodologies to suit your needs.
Our existing facilities cater for a range of
testing requirements in research, standards
development, litigation support, and product
or component evaluation.
Design
HIE offers support
in all aspects in the design of engineering
systems, with a special emphasis on injury prevention
and mitigation. We have a unique understanding
of current vehicle design methodology and techniques
for the design of protective equipment, including
helmets, neck devices, and protective clothing,
and vehicle occupant safety systems such as
restraints, vehicle interiors and structures.
Project Management
HIE prides itself
in the effective management of multidisciplinary
research and design teams to produce results
on time and in budget.
Training and Education
HIE offers training and education in
short courses, workshops and seminars by
open enrolment or through customised
programs designed to suit specific
requirements as requested by clients. While
the company draws primarily on the expertise
of Dr Tom Gibson for the delivery of its
education and training programs, it will
also draw on a local and world wide network
of highly skilled associates with a wide
range of complimentary specialisations, to
meet extra demands.
